KILN, MISS: WCF Aerospace has signed a new lease for a renovated hangar at Stennis International Airport (HSA), establishing an FAA Part 145 certified maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility at the airport. This significant milestone not only expands the airport’s aviation service capabilities but also solidifies its growing position as a premier aerospace center along the Gulf Coast.
The new facility will allow WCF Aerospace to support a broader range of aircraft maintenance activities, directly addressing a critical need for high-quality, certified MRO services in the region.
"Stennis International Airport is extremely excited to welcome our newest Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul (MRO) and FAA Part 145 Repair Station to Stennis International Airport. Their investment in Hancock County underscores the growing strength of our aviation and aerospace community here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, coupled with their desire to work with the existing DOD installations to retain this experience and talent in our local communities. This addition enhances our airport’s capabilities and reinforces Stennis International Airport as a key hub for aircraft maintenance and innovation on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and the Southeast United States."
-Austin Jenkins, Stennis International Airport Director
The 13,000 SF hangar, which underwent extensive modernization, was partially funded by a grant from the Mississippi Development Authority. The renovation included substantial improvements such as a new roof, exterior sheet metal wrap, an upgraded HVAC system, energy-efficient lighting, and fully renovated office and restroom spaces.
WCF Aerospace's investment is expected to create new skilled job opportunities and contribute substantially to the economic growth of Hancock County and the surrounding region. The presence of a certified MRO facility is a powerful asset, attracting more flight traffic and high-value aviation businesses to the area.
