KILN, Miss. – The Hancock County Port & Harbor Commission (HCPHC) has been awarded two Site Development Grant Program awards totaling $1,361,212, strengthening ongoing industrial expansion efforts at Port Bienville Industrial Park and supporting strategic readiness initiatives at Ignition Park.

The Site Development Grant Program – Select Site Grant, totaling $1,353,712, will fund critical wetlands mitigation at Port Bienville Site #01, one of Hancock County’s most market-ready industrial properties. Completing this mitigation accelerates the site’s readiness for advanced manufacturing, logistics operations, and large-scale industrial prospects in the Gulf Coast region.

HCPHC also received a $7,500 Ready Site Grant to enhance visibility and wayfinding through new signage at Ignition Park at Stennis International Airport, supporting continued momentum at one of Hancock County’s emerging industrial and technology hubs.

Driving Economic Competitiveness

“These grants significantly improve Hancock County’s ability to compete for major industrial projects. Preparing sites for development is one of the most important steps we can take to attract investment, create jobs, and grow our regional economy. We are grateful for the State of Mississippi’s continued support and partnership in strengthening our industrial assets." Blaine LaFontaine, CEO of HCPHC.

Strengthening the Future of Port Bienville and Ignition Park

Port Bienville Industrial Park is home to a diverse range of employers in manufacturing, maritime, chemical, and logistics sectors. The wetlands mitigation project supported by the Select Site Grant will unlock new acreage for industrial development, expand tenant opportunities, and support long-term industrial growth.

Ignition Park, positioned for future innovation and advanced manufacturing activity, will benefit from improved visibility through the Ready Site Grant–funded signage project.
