BAY ST. LOUIS, MS: Hancock County Port & Harbor Commission is pleased to announce $4 million in GOMESA funding for the complete reconstruction of Dock C at Port Bienville Industrial Park.

Dock C serves as a critical asset for Port Bienville Industrial Park. This project is a major step forward in restoring the dock's structural integrity and operational capacity, ensuring continued support for local industries.

“Dock C has reached the end of its original life expectancy and served Port Bienville nearly fifty years.  We are grateful for the leadership of the Gov. Reeves, House and Senate leadership such as Representative Brent Anderson and Senator Scott Delano including the Dept. of Marine Resources for supporting this project.  This is the last dock facility to repair at Port Bienville and we look forward to having it back in service as early as 2028.”
- Executive Director, Blaine LaFontaine

The reconstruction project includes an overhaul of the 400-foot dock. Key components of the rehabilitation work include:

  • Installation of new, high-durability sheet pile.

  • Rehabilitation of the existing concrete caps to restore structural load-bearing capacity.

  • Upgrades to the fendering system to improve safety and operational efficiency.

The project timeline is estimated to be 12 to 18 months, with final completion expected to restore full functionality to this important port asset.
