The Site 01 Hangar Development Project at Stennis International Airport represents a strategic investment in the continued growth of the Mississippi Gulf Coast’s aerospace and defense industries. Developed by the Hancock County Port & Harbor Commission, this 50,000-square-foot, large aircraft-capable facility is designed to meet increasing demand for hangar space from defense, unmanned systems, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations.

Designed as a flexible, multi-tenant facility, the climate-controlled hangar will accommodate a range of aviation users while supporting long-term industrial expansion at the airport. The site layout also preserves space for future hangar development, ensuring scalable growth as market demand continues to accelerate.

Currently in design, with 100% completion anticipated in May 2026, the project is positioned to advance into public procurement in Summer 2026. Recognized as a Top 10 Recommended Project under the Gulf Coast Restoration Fund, the development strengthens the region’s competitive industrial aviation infrastructure.
