Hancock County, MS (Jan. 31, 2020) - The Hancock County Port and Harbor Commission welcomed 3 new Commissioners at their most recent meeting on January 27, 2020.
Hancock County Chancery Clerk Timothy Kellar performed the swearing-in ceremony for the newly appointed Commissioners by administering the official Oath of Office.
The Port & Harbor Commission is comprised of 8 members who are appointed by either The Hancock County Board of Supervisors or by the Governor at the recommendation of each of the city mayors.
The newest appointees are:
Robert Martin of Waveland, appointed by Supervisor Theresa Ryan (District 1)
Derek Necaise of Kiln, appointed by Supervisor Kodie Koenenn (District 3)
Michael Bennett, appointed by Supervisor Darrin “Bo” Ladner (District 5)
After being appointed, the Commissioner’s term runs concurrently with their appointee’s term, or until they are replaced.
