Hancock County, MS - The Hancock County Port and Harbor Commission has received a grant of up to $50,000 to “develop available sites that meet the needs of prospective businesses” in south Mississippi.
The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA), the state’s economic-development agency, provided the grant through its Site Development Grant Program.
The Port Bienville Industrial Park will be the recipient of the grant funding, for site development at one of the industrial park’s two Project Ready Certified Sited deemed by Mississippi Power Company.
MDA Executive Director Glenn McCullough Jr. noted: “With this grant, we are pleased to support the important work you are doing to further prepare this site for industrial development and increase the competitiveness of the site, your community and the state as a whole.”
The Port and Harbor Commission’s CEO, Bill Cork, said: “As with all efforts at Port Bienville to increase Hancock County’s industrial footprint, this MDA grant will help the Port and Harbor Commission offer future tenants options that will facilitate their decision to place facilities in south Mississippi.”
