HCPHC’S NEW BRANDING WINS COMMUNITY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AWARD

February 10, 2016

The Hancock County Port and Harbor Commission is the winner of the Mississippi Economic Development Council’s 2015 Community Economic Development Award for its new marketing materials and rebranding.

The new brand identity - Hancock: Port, Air and Space - features a new logo and tagline that promotes the Commission’s scope and purpose.

“Our objective was to display the strengths Hancock County offers to industry and business,” said Janel Carothers, HCPHC‘s Chief Development Officer. “The brand successfully communicates our absolute economic advantage of doing business in Hancock County. The campaign wouldn’t have been a success without the diligent work of our entire team.”

The Hancock Chamber of Commerce managed the rebranding project and Marketing Alliance of Jackson developed the marketing materials.

The website – portairspace.com – targets industrial prospects and site selection consultants for businesses looking to build, relocate or expand. The site includes information about industrial sites and buildings at Stennis International Airport, Port Bienville and Stennis Space Center, as well as demographics, transportation assets, education and training resources and quality of life information.

As the home of Stennis Space Center, Hancock County has attracted numerous aerospace companies, including SpaceX, Rolls Royce, Selex Galileo and Aerojet Rocketdyne, as well as defense, governmental, and research and development organizations. HCPHC also owns and operates a short line railroad that connects the CSX railroad.
