KILN, MISS: Hancock County Port and Harbor Commission (HCPHC) is excited to announce the newest member of the HCPHC team Amber Hinton, as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Amber will be responsible for the management and supervision of all financial administration, including budgeting and reporting, supervision of accounting staff, protection of assets including cash and fixed assets, and grant and loan compliance.
“After an extensive interview process, we are happy to add an experienced public finance professional to our existing finance team. Her experience with budget development, industrial parks, airports, and grants is a perfect fit for Hancock County Port and Harbor Commission and will serve us well over the next decade,” remarked Blaine LaFontaine, Executive Director.
Amber joins HCPHC with 17 years of experience in governmental accounting and finance from the City of Picayune and the City of Gulfport. Amber holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and has received Certified Municipal Clerk Designation from the Mississippi Municipal Clerks and Collectors Associations along with Master Municipal Clerk Designation from International Institute of Municipal Clerks. Amber will be pursuing her Certified Public Finance Officer certification in the coming years. She lives in Pearl River County with her husband and daughter.
