HANCOCK COUNTY LAUNCHES ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT WEBSITE WITH 3D VIDEO AND ‘ONE-STOP-SHOP’ DATA

September 30, 2015

The Hancock County Port and Harbor Commission today announced the launch of its new economic development website, www.portairspace.com.

The website is designed specifically to target industrial prospects and site selection consultants who represent industrial and commercial businesses looking to build, relocate or expand. The site includes detailed information about Hancock County’s industrial sites and buildings.  The site also features individual pages showcasing Stennis International Airport, Port Bienville and Stennis Space Center, along with targeted demographic data, transportation assets, education and training resources, and information on the quality of life in Hancock County. The website also includes a three-minute 3D video presentation, designed to provide a virtual elevator pitch on the benefits of doing business in Hancock County.

“Hancock County is unique in its blend of infrastructure and industrial assets that can support a diverse mix of industry,” said Ashley Edwards, executive director of the Hancock County Port and Harbor Commission. “Our new website effectively presents the benefits of each of these assets.  Our goal was to ensure that our website would be a one-stop-shop for all the necessary data and information a company or site selector would need to consider Hancock County for their location decision.”

The new website and video presentation were built by Marketing Alliance Inc., an economic development marketing firm with offices in Mississippi, North Carolina, Florida and Oklahoma.

The Hancock County Port and Harbor Commission also formed a partnership with the Hancock County Chamber of Commerce to ensure a seamless blend between the two agencies’ websites and marketing materials.

“The Hancock County Chamber of Commerce led the way last year with their new website and their targeted relocation packages to attract more residents to live in Hancock County,” Edwards said. “We partnered with the Chamber and were able to create a tremendous amount of synergy between our efforts.  When you look at the online marketing efforts of other growing economic centers throughout the country, you will find that Hancock County now has an online presence on par with the leading sites in the United States."
