WAVELAND, MS- Mayor Jay Trapani and the Hancock County Port and Harbor Commission are pleased to announce that Chick-fil-A will officially expand its footprint into the City of Waveland. The arrival of the national restaurant chain marks a major milestone for the region. The restaurant plans to open at the northwest corner of Highway 90 and 603 in early 2027.
Chick-fil-A marks new growth for the Highway 90 corridor, promising both a new dining staple for residents and a substantial boost to the local economy. Each locally owned and operated Chick-fil-A restaurant typically creates between 80 and 120 new jobs.
This is a tremendous day for Waveland. Bringing Chick-fil-A to our community is more than just adding a beloved restaurant — it's a signal to the rest of the region that Waveland is open for business and growing. A brand of this caliber choosing our city speaks volumes about the confidence investors have in our future. Beyond the jobs it will create for our residents, Chick-fil-A will drive traffic to our corridor, support surrounding businesses, and generate meaningful sales tax revenue that goes right back into improving our city. We've worked hard to make Waveland an attractive place for quality development, and this is exactly the kind of momentum we've been building toward. I couldn't be more excited for what this means for our families and our future.
- Jay Trapani, Mayor of Waveland
