The Stennis Airport Team will handle their largest single day deployment with five (5) C-17 Globemaster operations, including four (4) on the airport simultaneously. Each aircrew has asked for 200,000 plus pounds of Jet A fuel – approximately twice the capacity of the existing fuel farm. This will occur on what will be a heavy traffic day as most military units will start shutting down tomorrow for Thanksgiving. Our Airport and Million Air staff will work to coordinate safe and efficient movement of aircraft and aircrews.
As we give thanks this Thursday, please include our military personnel, many living in Hancock County, that will be deployed through the holiday season.
